The Circle Maker

Today, we went to church, and I've spent most of the afternoon cleaning in preperation for my husbands father, step mother, and aunts arival. I'm so excited to see them.. but nervous about how I'm going to deal with seeing them hurting. I know this isn't something I can run away from... but I don't really know how to prepare for it either.. well.. that is until we went to church.

We go to Destination Church. It's an amazing ministry team, and their values are just spot on with our beliefs... we love it there, though we haven't really connected past our group of friends whom I go to bible study on post with. We do hope to connect and get involve soon, but put it off because of the pregnancy and the tenative newborn we were expecting to juggle this month.

They started a new series, called the circle maker. My mind was not on much but Sophia this morning, and I spent most of the sermon trying to focus, but being pulled back to the images of her birth, and of all the things that have been unfolding the past week. Although I was drifting, as I prayed this afternoon, and spoke to god while I was cleaning, I realized... I need to pray MORE. You see, the circle maker is about prayer. A man named Honi, who drew a circle in the sand in the middle of the desert during a drought, and told god he would not move from his cirlce until he answered HIS prayers for his people.. and he did.

I'm realizing that god is asking me to spend more time with him... to pray diligently for the people I love, the things I desire, and for his desires to be mine. My quiet time has become very short lately, and though I study his word, I'm almost certain I haven't been as involved in it as I should be. I'm going to start waking up early, and spending more time with God.

If you would like more information on the book, I will admit I have yet to read it, but will be this month, you can go to the website (also where I borrowed the free image) here.http://www.thecirclemaker.com/

If you want to hear the sermons from our church, you can go to http://www.destinationwired.com/ and hear exactly what I hear this morning.
